Steering Cable is stuck

Last summer, I got a 1976 Starcraft Mariner 18' from my neighbor for $1200. It sat in his yard for years, but I've been fixing it up bit by bit. Right now, I'm stuck with a problem, the steering cable won't move at all. I tried oil and gentle pulling, but it's still frozen. Has anyone replaced theirs lately or know where I can get a new one that fits? Thanks!

For replacement cables, Teleflex/SeaStar is a good place to start since they make most boat steering stuff. Just measure your current cable length and know what kind of engine connection you have. Or, bring the old cable to a local marine shop, they can usually find a match, especially for older Starcraft boats.
