Engine dilemmaa

The Super Sport 18 I got is in pretty good shape, but despite the previous owner's claims that it's well maintained I'm still thinking about doing the engine. One option is to rebuild it, which I'm not sure if it's worth it on an almost 50 year old engine. The second option is to find a newer engine. Which one do you think is the better option and why?

Honestly, I'd go with a newer engine, it's more reliable, better on fuel, and parts are easier to find. Rebuilding's fine, but with a 50-year-old block, you're kinda rolling the dice.

I agree , a newer engine would be more reliable and fuel efficient.
